My Summer

August 25, 2016

I can’t believe I’m writing this post and summer is almost over! For my family this summer has been unusually busy. We went camping in the mountains, down to the beach, watched an outside play in St. George, and even had our first annual United States Road Trip where we traveled the southern states for 3 weeks (more on that in another post).

As a motherauthor (this word will be used often I’m guessing) time is of the essence. I don’t want to miss out on my children growing up but I also don’t want to miss out on business opportunities, or even, any of my IG feed! So what do I do? Bring books with me to document that journey. This collage obviously aren’t staged photos but to me they’re more than that. They will forever remind me of places I went or the time I read these books.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater I finished a month or so ago. Loved it. BFG was recently released as a movie and of course we went as a family. Bookshelves are of the Monterrey Bay Aquarium which I recommend going–worth the money. Furthermore is an advanced copy I received at BEA and is a middle-grade standalone which the author, Tahereh Mafi, has signed to my daughter. This also is my first book by Mafi that I’m reading so yeah, pretty stoked. Half way through and obsessed! The Edge Of Everything by Jeff Giles is on the very tippy-top of my TBR. I read a few pages and didn’t want to put it down. I’m crying I wish I could stop typing and read it right now. Pokemon. Need I say more? And finally a picture by the pool will always be necessary because when you live in Las Vegas you melt in the summers.

Sunshine or rain, let’s enjoy the last few days of summer!
